Why is this still a problem???

Thanks for visiting. I hope you've found the conversations useful.

This podcast is to share conversations with the many dedicated operators and innovators protecting our lands, communities, resources, and ecosystems... with the goal of bringing to surface the ideas and efforts of all involved, and helping connections to be made, so we can more swiftly regain a healthy balance of living and thriving on our beautiful planet.

-----

My first experience with wildland fire was in high school, riding my bike through the trails on Green Mountain in Colorado, which had recently burned to a monochromatic gray and black. When I got on the trail, I was struck by the bright green buds peaking through the ashes. They were unexpected and magical, like new living stars bursting from the earth.

Fire is a beautiful, healthy ... and deadly part of our natural ecosystem. With today's technology, it's inexcusable that mega fires still happen, and that good fire isn't given stronger support to ensure it's healthy use - nourishing and protecting our lands.

Fire is the primal technology that enabled humanity to thrive. Technology has come a long way since then. It's time we refocus our advances in technology, putting it into experienced hands, so the primal technology - fire - can once again be humanity's friend.
